January Favourites 2014

I can't believe I'm on time for my monthly favourites! Here are all my beauty and non beauty favourites of 2014.  Enjoy! xo
1// Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Wild Ginger Shine Spray £18.95

You may not see many hair products in my hauls or favourites because I have alopecia and currently wear wigs.  Currently I wear synthetic wigs and I don't have to use any products on them but I received this in my Glossy Box last year and didn't use it till this year and now I am in love.  It gives my hair just enough shine to make them look more natural and I love the smell. £18.95 may seem a lot for just a shine spray but it really works and not much of it is needed.
2// Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser £7.99

If you read my last blog post you might have guessed this will be in my favourites.  I seriously can not explain how much I love this.  Click here for full review on this product.
3// Maybelline 24 Hour Colour Tattoo in Permanent Taupe £4.99

This is my go to product when I need to put make-up on and I'm in a lazy mood.  I can create a easy smoky eye with this and it is supper bendable, long lasting and it does not crease!
4// MUA Luxe in Criminal £3.00

I've always been unsure of pink lipstick, especially very bright lipstick because I'm so pale.  I bought this little beauty a few months ago and shoved it at the back of my collection and I have recently fallen in love with it.  It is a matte lipstick but I do occasionally put a clear lip gloss on top for a high shine look.

5// Soap & Glory The Scrub of your Life £7.00

For Christmas I received many Soap & Glory products for Christmas and this has to be my favourite out of them all.  I suffer from extremely dry skin on my arms and legs and I use this every time I have a shower and its made my skin soft again!  It smells like heaven and I can't have a shower without it.
6// Rimmel Match Perfection Loose Powder Translucent £6.99

I have found it hard to find a setting powder what does not make my face look too powdery.  I bought this a few months ago and when I first used it I hated it, it comes with a powder puff and it made my face look cakey.  I have recently started using this with a Real Techniques Duo Fibre Powder Brush and it sets my foundation and concealer perfectly and gets rid of any unwanted shine.
7// Nivea Day Cream £3.99

This product was also in my Superdrug haul and I use it every day to tackle my dry patches on my face and neck.  I used to use Benefits moisturiser but I found it made my face greasy after use and I had to wait a while before applying make-up.  This doesn't cause any greasiness and its also helping my dry skin so its a win win!
(Top left - right)

1// Dan Le Sac VS Scroobius Pip, If you have not heard of them please go and google them.  Scroobious Pip is one of the best rappers in the UK.  I finely got to see them live this month and they was amazing.

2// My nail polish collection is growing and growing and now I finally have them under control.  I had this little shelf made for a small selection of my nail polishes (notice I say small!).  I play to get more of these shelves made so I can expand my collection.

3// Brunette! yes I now have a brunette wig.  I call this my day to day wig and I am in love.  A full blog post of my wig collection, storage, wig care and where I get these beauties from will be coming soon.

4// Nose piercing, I got my nose re-pierced.  before anyone asks me did it hurt, everyone's pain threshold is different and I personally didn't think it hurt. I can not wait for it to heal so I can change the jewellery.

p.s do you like non beauty faves? or should I not do it?

Can you believe its nearly February? Also Happy Chinese New Year!! (or soon to be)

Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Review

Today I am reviewing a new product from Maybelline called Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser, which I recently bought in my Superdrug Haul for the amazing price of £7.99.  I first heard about the Maybelline Pore Eraser about six months ago. However it was called Baby Skin Pink Transformer and had only been spotted on the Asian market.  When I found out Maybelline was bringing out a similar product I was excited as I suffer from large pores on my nose and chin.

Before buying this product I was using two primers; Benefit's Porefessional and Revlon PhotoReady Perfecting Primer.  Out of the two I would definitely buy Benefit's Porefessional but I was on the look out for something a little cheaper as Porefessional is £24.50 for 22ml.

As much as I am a fan of drug store make-up I have recently steered away from it and became in love with brands like MAC, NARS and Illamasqua.  My poor bank balance has began to hate me for my high-end make-up addiction so I am on the hunt to find the best drug store products and I think I may have found my first contender.

// Clear Gel Formula, remember a little goes a long way! //

The description on the packaging says Instant Pore Eraser; lightweight primer, pores appear instantly erases for smooth-looking skin and I have to agree. My pores instantly disappeared, even the large ones.  My skin looked perfect with just Baby Skin and moisturiser on.  The biggest surprise was when I put my Illamasqua Skin Base foundation on top of the primer, I looked airbrushed, I got so many complements on how good my skin looked and it was all down to this product.

I can definitely see this sort of primer being a problem for someone with oily skin as it is a tiny bit greasy on the skin,  If you do suffer from oily skin and are struggling to find a primer try Bourjois Happy Light Primer Matte or
MUA Complexion Primer Matte.  But for me this has to be my new favourite primer and drug store product.

Are you a fan of Maybelline's Baby Skin? What primers do you use?

Superdrug Haul #1

I popped into Superdrug the other day on a mission to cheer myself up.  Of course I couldn't buy just one thing but I did manage to spend less than £15 and get more points on my beauty card, so it's a win win for me.

Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser // £7.99

Of course I had to jump on the bandwagon and try the new Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser and Superdrug currently have a buy one get the second half price.  I have been dying to try this for such a long time, ever since I read about the Asian version Maybelline Baby Skin Pink Transformer. Full blog post coming soon look out!

Maybelline Baby Lips in Hydrate // £1.50 RRP £2.99

Since Superdrug had the buy one get one half price sale I decided to buy myself another Baby Lips this time I got the Hydrate lip balm. Recently I have been wearing a lot of matte lip sticks and it causes my lips to dry out, when at home I usually drench my lips with Vaseline Lip and Aloe Vera therapy but I needed something to carry in my handbag at all times without a tint and I've fallen in love with the beauty.  Definitely worth the hype!

Nivea Rich Moistening Day Cream for Dry & Sensitive Skin // £2.05 RRP £4.19
I'm always on the hunt for a thick moisturising day cream and this caught my eye.  Recently my skin has gotten very dry and and no matter what I use it is not moisturising enough.  Up to now this may be the "one" I've been looking for, its so thick and creamy and it doesn't make my skin greasy like others have done in the past.  I will definitely keep you all updated on this product.

I also bought some Ibuprofen as you can see because I was off to get my nose pierced after my little shopping trip, my piercer always advises me to take anti-inflammatory pain killers after.  Photos can be seen on my instagram of my shiny new piercing.

Have you tried Maybelline's new Baby Skin Pore Eraser? what do you think? Please leave a comment below on what you think.

My Essential Makeup Brushes

These may seem like a lot of make-up brushes just for day to day use but they make my routine a lot easier and quicker. I never really understood people who had an obsession/addiction to buying make-up brushes until now.  I was always the type of person who used their fingers, I stopped using my fingers when I found out that when you apply product with your fingers, the natural oils on them can change the products colour and consistency.

As you can see I  store my most used brushes in the large skurar plant pot from Ikea, which seems to be the popular choice, from what I have seen on Instagram.
Real Techniques Powder Brush

I use this large fluffy brush for setting liquid foundation with a light dusting of transparent powder, my current favourite is Rimmel Match Perfection Loose Powder.  You are guaranteed a flawless finish with this brush, I have no complaints and I am considering buying another to add to my collection.

Real Techniques Brow Brush

I use this to create my trademark defined brows.  The slanted edge makes it easy to enhance my eyebrows and create the perfect arch. I either use Illamasqua Brow Cake in Peek or MAC eye shadow in Coquette.

Real Techniques Blush Brush

The large synthetic bristles pick up just the right amount of product to create the perfect flushed look without the harsh lines.  If you are a make-up beginner or you are heavy handed I recommend this brush for you

Real Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush

This brush is made for blending eye shadows in the crease but I find the head too large and dense for blending.  I mostly use this brush for concealer blending or nose contorting, I find it perfect size to do these tasks and I think Real Techniques should sell this product on its own because I would love definitely buy more.

Real Techniques Buffing Brush

The densely bristles makes this brush the perfect multi-tasking brush that can be used to apply all types of foundation, blending out harsh lines from blusher and/or bronzer and much more.

Maange 859 Spoolie

You may think adding a spoolie to my top 10 brushes but this process is a must to keep my little beauties under control.  I particularly love this one because of the long handle and it was super cheap.

Maange 861 Lip Brush (MAC 210 dupe)

Winged eyeliner is a must for any make-up look for me and I've always struggled to find the perfect brush until I came across this little beauty.  The bristles are firm and holds it's shape.  It is identical to the MAC 210 but at a fraction of the cost, I will definitely repurchase this brush.

Real Techniques Base Shadow Brush

Yet another Real Techniques brush, can you tell I'm a fan? I find this brush perfect for blending, the fluffy tapered bristles make blending cream or powder products effortless.

What are you essential make-up brushes and why?
